April 2010

April is here!! We had such a fun filled month with so many things to do! We started out with EASTER!! My parents held a night time Easter egg hunt. The kids go out there with flashlights and find the candy. I unfortunately forgot my camera at home but it was so much fun. We then went to a public Easter egg hunt. Phoenix had so much fun with daddy helping him. He was so excited because Chuck E Cheese was there, he was much more interested in saying hi to him than searching for eggs. Then as soon as we got near Chuck E Cheese he clammed up and clung to his dad!!

Phoenix has been in love with Buzz and Woody from Toy Story. Since they came out on DVD recently we bought them for both of our kids. He was in heaven. We then had fun coloring eggs. Reagan even got to color an egg.

This is Reagan in her cute Easter dress.

So when Reagan was born her umbilical cord didn't fall off completely. So we went to the doctor every week to have silver nitrate put on it. Silver nitrate cauterizes the tissue so it will fall off. After 4 treatments of silver nitrate it was healed. It was a relief to us because if it didn't heal then we were going to have to see a pediatric surgeon to have it removed. Thankfully with lots of prayer and worry we were able to have it healed just fine.

So I was ready to make Reagan look more girly and get her ears pierced. I was nervous about getting it done so I asked my mom to come and help me. My sisters also wanted to come and see her get them done. She cried so hard!! Poor girl she screamed bloody murder for at least a half hour. But then they were done. We we got home we gave her Tylenol and ta da we had a happy girl who slept through the night!!

Phoenix loves to take pictures with Reagan. So here they are right before church one day!! Reagan was not happy but Phoenix was and he was so good to love his little sister.

So we have had quite the projects around our house. First in our office we had the wall bubbling out. We called our landlords and there was no water leaking behind it. What we had found was that there was mold behind old wallpaper. So we talked with our landlords and they allowed us to scrape off the paint, remove the wallpaper and then treat the mold. After that was all done we painted the room. It took us the whole month of April but it was done. Now in our front room we had the same problem, the wall was bubbling out. We had been dealing with it for almost a year. Finally we got it taken care of. This one we opted not to do due to the extensive work this would have been. They had to patch a leak in the roof, dry out the attic, pull down paneling, remove wallpaper, remove mold, patch and paint. It was quite gross according to the workers. So while they worked on the front room we were put in a hotel. Phoenix loved going swimming every night with his dad. They had so much fun!! It was great because during the day I would go to my parents and hang out at their house and then go to the hotel at night. It was so nice to have the extra help since Steve is back in school and doesn't get home until later now. We are so grateful to have family close by and all the help they give us.

I know this happened in May but it is just such a good day I want to share it now. So we got to bless our sweet little angel Reagan on May 2nd. She was so cute. We were able to be surrounded by so much family and friends. It was a great experience. Steve's parents and his Grandma was able to come down and spend time with us. Steve's mom loved just holding and cuddling her little granddaughter. Since Steve's parents had to leave after the blessing we were lucky enough to have lunch with them. Then after the blessing we had dinner with my family and some friends. It was such a great time. I am so grateful for all the help and support we have been given.

Steve- He is great he is back in school and loving life. It has been a big adjustment getting use to everything. We were grateful this semester we got approved for tuition reimbursement from Steve's work. We were also approved for financial aid. BYU has strict guidelines to receive financial aid and we had to petition to get it. It was a great blessing to be able to receive two forms of financial assistance for schooling. He is having so much fun going golfing. He has gone golfing several times with many people. It has been so much fun for him and he loves the work out he gets with it.
Whitney- I am loving life. I recently had extensions put in my hair. I gained about 14+ inches. It is nice to have long hair once again. It has also been nice to be able to get back into my pre-baby jeans. Can you believe it I am already back to pre-baby weight. It feels so nice with summer approaching and wanting to get ready to go swimming again. Me and Steve got a work out video and it has been fun to get in good shape. I have also loved getting my yard ready for spring.

Phoenix- He is such a good boy. He is still doing potty training. It is such a process and he finally learning to tell us when he needs to go (sometimes). He is also talking a lot and wanting to learn new things. His Aunt Alecia gave him a box from her childhood development class with a bunch of projects and fun games to help him learn. I put it into a book for him and he loves to look and play with it while learning.
Reagan- Well she is now lifting up her head. As you can see from the picture above she can lift up her head and she is trying to roll over. Although she is no where close to rolling over she sure does like to try. She looks so girly now that her ears are pierced. She had her two month check up where she weighed 11 lbs and is 22 inches long. She is such a cute little girl and we are grateful we got to bless her and that she was brought into our life.
