Our next adventure was when all of us headed out to the Red Barn. We do this every year. We go on a hay ride and then we go to pick out our pumpkins. This year they had a hay bale you could climb on and a maze. The kids went in the maze as much as possible. Then we had to find the most perfect pumpkins ever.
Since it is fall it wouldn't be complete unless we played in leaves. The kids love to jump in the piles of leaves whenever we rake the yard. Its fun to see the pure excitement they have at something so simple. They also love to jump in the trashcan to smash down the leaves when we decide to clean them up.
Me and Steve were lucky enough to get Kelly (Steve's amazing sister) to come and babysit for us so that we could go to the BYU game together. Although it was the middle of October we were sweating it out at the game. It was a hot 80 degree day and we got a nice little tan from it!
The next was my mom's Halloween party! The kids love to go with Grandma and love to play all the fun games. Plus I think getting candy and prizes are a bonus. Don't you just love the kids' outfits?
My mom found this awesome hats for the kids for this winter. They love to put them on every day and play dress up. It's fun to hear Phoenix make up stories to what they are doing as Buzz Lightyear and Minnie Mouse.
We then went up to BYU to Halloween Spookatcular. We had my sister Melissa come with us and had a super fun time! Again the kids get to play awesome games, get treats and slide down a huge blow up slide.
We then did our own little party at our house one night to celebrate Halloween. We even made home made rootbeer. Phoenix loved seeing it fog and bubble everywhere. Me and Steve were like little kids again blowing the fog everywhere.
We then decided to finally carve our pumpkins. Since Reagan is clearly to young to carve her own pumpkin we did it for her. But we did let he paint it first. Although she mostly just starred at the paint. Phoenix loved that he got to actually help Dad carve his pumpkins this year. Steve made Yoda, I made Mickey Mouse, Phoenix made the Superman logo, and I cut Reagan a cute face.
Off to Boo at the Zoo! We love the zoo anyways but getting to dress up and get treats is a super bonus! It was nice we went in the afternoon and we were able to play for most of the day. We got to have my mom, sister Alecia and nephew Teagan join us. The best part is we found out that Reagan is in love with the monkeys. She would just sit in the stroller and laugh at them. We even had a capuchin Monkey (like off the night of the museum movie) that would smile and dance at us. It was pretty cool.
On our way home we decided to stop at Gardnier Village. They dress it up for the major holidays and right now it is filled with ton of witches. The kids had fun looking at everything.
We then decided to go out to a fun dinner at a place called The Mayan. They have shows where people with cliff dive, do ariel acrobatics. and play with fire. Then you basically sit in what looks like a huge tree house. The kids were in heaven.
Well we finally arrived to Halloween day and night. We went trick or treating at my mom's work. Then we headed up to their house for the night. My parents started a tradition to do indoor trick or treating. Just because when the grand kids are to young to go outside, my parents still want the kids to trick or treat. We then had a delicious dinner and then headed out to go trick or treating. Reagan was so cute and wanted her Papa to take her trick or treating. She grasped onto his hand and didn't want to let go until she realized that she got treats. Then she was ready to run around with the boys and get all the treats she could. It was a very fun night.
We also went to this one house. They deck it out pirate style and there is a ship in their front yard. Cracken that pops out of the ground, wolves that pop out of the bushes, mermaids in the back in water. Such a fun and scary house.
And to end all the pics my cute kids. Reagan and Phoenix love to cuddle in the morning. They will climb on the couch find their spot and cuddle. Cutest thing EVER!
My little girl looking so grown up!
Steve-
He is busy working on 3 online courses and applying to graduate school. He is enjoying getting closer to graduating and now only has 2 classes to take this Winter semester and then graduate in APRIL. It seems so close after so many years of schooling. We are excited for the next chapter to begin. He has a new calling as Cub Scout leader and loves going to scouts and being a kid again. It is fun to see how much fun he gets to have.
Whitney-
I am staying busy, between my calling, two kids, one in school, and life in general, life is busy. Plus it helps when you have a lot of fun activities to do. It has been weird to have half my day with one kid at school and one asleep. So I decided to start a new project to keep me busy.... but you have to wait to hear about that.
Phoenix-
What a fun time and age. He is getting so creative with the stories he creates, drawings he draws, and games he plays. He loves to play I spy and duck duck goose. Those are his absolute favorites. He enjoys his preschool and loves to tell us what he has learned that day. His teachers love what a big helper he is at school too.
Reagan-
This month certainly was a hard month for Reagan. She gained two new canines and so that made for a super fun time. But she also has been so much fun. She loves to read books and is constantly asking for books and will climb right up on our lap 'til we read to her. I love that she loves books.
