August 2012

Well August came and went so quickly.  So lets start with all the fun we had!

Many of our summer days have been spent going swimming. We would roll out of bed and into our swimsuits.  The kids and I have loved going so much!  They are getting really good at swimming and it totally wears them out.

The next thing we did was move!!  Can you believe it??  We have lived in Provo in this same house for 4 years.  But we were growing more and more tired of the commute.  We wouldn't see Steve in the morning because he would leave by 7 am to get there on time.  Then he wouldn't get home until 7-8 at night.  Depending on traffic, work, etc.  So we wanted to move.  We waited and waited all summer long.  We put in paperwork for some duplexes we loved and wanted to wait and see if we would get it.  Well we did.  After 2 1/2 months of waiting we got it!  But sadly that meant leaving our cute little home behind.  It looks so weird being empty after that long of it being filled with all our stuff!

Well after we moved we got settled in our new place.  I will post pictures this next month.  It was great because our first weekend was spent unpacking and getting things organized.  But the next weekend we had Stansbury Days.  Stansbury Park is our town and they have some fun activities once a year.  So we went out to the parade.  Strolled around the booths with tons of stuff for sale.  Went to the car show.  Then later that night we went to watch fireworks and to do star gazing.  Phoenix got to put his name in for the star gazing party to win some awesome prizes.  He ended up winning a pair of binoculars.  He was so excited and loves to look at the stars through ( what he calls ) his telescope!

The next weekend we had a friend from Provo come up and hang out with us.  Since it happened to be his birthday we had to celebrate with cake.

This is how the kids look most mornings waking up.  Still tired and groggy.  It is pretty funny.  We keep telling them that they can keep sleeping but they would rather wake up and stay like this.  Funny kiddos.
So my mom came out and spent the night with us.  She had to go to the airport super early in the morning and since we live about 15 minutes away from the airport it worked out best for her to come spend the night.  She was super cute and spoiled her grand-kids rotten.  She is such a wonderful grandma.  She knows exactly what they love.  They love her too!

Well wouldn't you believe it we now have a kid in school!!  I can't believe that he is 5  and going to kindergarten.  So we went to find out what class he was in.  We got him all ready and sent him on the bus to go to school.  I was super nervous about him taking the bus because of him possibly getting on the wrong bus.  Going somewhere we didn't know. But luckily his teacher is really good and puts all the kids on the right bus.  So that definitely helps.  He loves school and is glad to be going.

Reagan was getting upset because it had been all about Phoenix.  Phoenix got to get a new back pack, get school stuff, go on the bus, etc.  So she asked for her own backpack.  Her job is to walk Phoenix to and from the school bus stop.  She has to get on her backpack every time and go and get her bubba.

We have also had some fun making some delicious food.  Playing hard and enjoying life!

We also went to the Brigham City open house.  So technically this happened in September but you get to hear about it now.  So we went to the temple wanting to go to the open house.  We stood in a hot sunny line for 2 hours.  We then were shown a video about temples and what they mean.  Then we were told it would be another hour.  The kids were loosing it.  We were hot.  We were tired.  So we were done.  So in conclusion.  We came, We took a picture, We went to McDonald's for ice cream.

Steve-He is doing so good!!  He is loving his job and has been working really hard.  He has enjoyed all the parks in our new town.  We have been taking the kids out almost every day so that we can try a new park.  He also glad because he has gotten three fantasy football teams all set and ready to go this year.  Also FOOTBALL started.  He was excited to go to the first BYU game this season.
Whitney- Well I am enjoying a lot of change.  Since moving it has been really different.  It is very quite and not much to do in our little town.  I am use to museums all around, swim parks, trafalga, bowling, etc around.  Here we have parks and that is about it.  Unless we go into downtown Salt Lake City or into Tooele.   But I have been making a lot of different food, jamming, drying, freezing, baking, etc.  to keep me busy and the family full.
Phoenix- Well as you can see he started kindergarten.  He loves going to school and has enjoyed it.  He also got some new puzzles that help him learn how to read and recognize letters.  So he has loved putting those together and learning different letters and how to make words.  The big goal is by the end of the school year to have him reading.
Reagan- She is has been having up and downs.  She is getting really good at playing at the parks and has learned how to be a great climber.  Not surprising considering she loved to climb on any type of furniture.  She has struggled a little getting use to the move.  She keeps asking to go home.  So we are working on this.  Making her realize this is her new home.  But she loves taking her bubba to school and she loves all the parks.  So those are good!
