July 2014

It seems like our months just fly by.  We do so much and have so much fun that everything goes by all to quickly.  Especially with all the holidays and work parties and birthday celebrating we do in July.  So here is how we spent our month.
So I started off the month by heading out to Bear Lake for a fun photo shoot. I love this beautiful place and it is always a great day when I can take pictures.  (For more information on my photography you can go to bakingphotos.blogspot.com)
The very next day it was down to my parents place.  And for the first time in months Kaylin let my mom hold her without screaming bloody murder.  Hopefully this means she is starting to get over her stranger danger?
The next morning we were off to the 4th of July parade.  Unfortunately Steve got sick so he wasn't able to come down and play with us.  We went and parked in front of our old house and guess what.... It no longer exists.  We were told when we moved in that eventually it would be torn down.  But it still was very weird to see it gone.  But I am so grateful for all the wonderful memories we have of that home.

Off to the parade down in Provo.

When we came home it was off to play at the parks.  We love our little town because it is filled with a lot of parks.

We also did lots of bowling
The next weekend we were off again this time to Steve's work party.  Yet again Steve decided to get sick (it was quite the nasty flu, which Phoenix decided to get as well).  So I took Reagan and invited my dad and nephew to come join me in place of Phoenix and Steve.  We had a great time.  We went mini golfing, did bumber boats, air simulators, laser tag, video games, climbing fort for the kids, face painting, and ate really good food.  It was a really fun time.

We spent a lot of time outside playing.  SO I decided to make a new sprinkler.  They call it a car wash on pinterest.  Whatever it is called it is fun.  The kids love playing in it and it was very easy to make.
This little girl also got her second tooth.  Can you see it?  She is much happier when she is not teething.
The next weekend we had Phoenix's birthday.  We decided to get him a really cool scooter. It has caster wheels on the back of it so all he has to do is wiggle and he goes. Plus he can glide around corners with such ease.  Ever since he got it he is outside on this scooter for hours.  We also had a party with his friends.  He really wanted to have an outdoor movie (perfect for summer) and have a candy bar (and thanks to Aunt Lucy's wedding we a lot of candy left from that).  He definitely had a blast.

We went bowling for his birthday as well.

The next weekend we went and hung out with my sisters and went swimming.  I love that she lives in a complex with a heated in ground pool.  We had so much fun and got completely worn out. We can't wait to go again.

Phoenix got a slip and slide for his birthday and that has been such a big hit.  His friends love to come over and slide all afternoon with us.
This little gal is starting to get so big.... only one more month until her birthday.

For the 24th of July our town had a bunch of activities going on.  For the afternoon we walked over the grist mill where they had a tractor to pull kids around in.   They also had lots of fun games for the kids as well as a free lunch.

That night our stake had a activity where they had a water run.  All the kids wanted to do it and Steve had to work late that day.  So as it started Kaylin was drinking her bottle and Reagan wanted me to run with her.  So there I was running with a baby drinking and a toddler grabbing my hand.  It was definitely amusing.  We then had some neighbors come over and do sparklers with us.

We also did one more session of swim lessons.
My parents invited us to go to a pioneer play with them.  It was put on by Merrill Osmond who started Stadium of fire.  This was basically a dumb down version of it.  So it totally rocked.  They had entertainers, fireworks and a great play about the pioneers.  The kids thought it was awesome.  In the play they talked about how many babies died.  Phoenix got very concerned after that. He was so worried that our cute Kaylin would die like the babies in the play.  It was so cute and a great opportunity to teach him.

While at the play these two hung out at home since Kaylin is at the age where its hard to get her to sit for more than a hour.
We also went to one of our favorite parks and taught the kids how to play Frisbee golf.

Phoenix has been getting really good at bowling.  He even got a double!!  He was so proud of himself.

Steve-
He has been working so crazy this summer.  Due to a lot of repositioning at his work he has not been fully staffed since May.  So he has been working crazy hours.  He is looking forward to hopefully having a full staff soon.  He has also been plagued by a crazy flu that kept him down most weekends in July.  But now he is on the mend and also got to enjoy doing many fun things with us.
Whitney-
Since Steve has been working so many hours I have been filling our summer with lots of fun events.  Keeping the kids as busy as I can so that they don't miss his too much.
Phoenix-
This big boy turned 7 this month.  Right after his birthday was over he was so excited because he only has one more year until he can get baptized.   He also loved his party and said he is finally ready for school to start this next month.
Reagan-
She is trying to keep up with big brother.  Since he has been out playing with friends she has wanted that same opportunity.  So we have been learning about playing with friends.  Not talking to strangers.  Letting mom know where you are and playing nice with all our friends.  She has loved her new found freedom in this.
Kaylin- She is now standing like a champ. In June we switched from breastfeeding to bottle feeding.  It has made life so much easier with two older siblings going as much as they do.  She also loves to wave and recently started saying hi and bye a lot.  She loves to feed herself and gets mad if we feed her.  So she is no longer eating baby food due to this.
